Membership Should Have Privileges
The International Stage Hypnotists’ Association is not a for-profit business venture. It is an effort to provide education, professional development, and support for the professionals who truly want to succeed as hypnotist entertainers. Providing that support takes money, so we do ask for an annual membership fee.
Start with an Association Membership
All ISHA members begin with an Association Membership. Whether you are just beginning to learn about hypnotism, or you’ve been performing for years, an Association Membership will provide you with support and welcome you into a community of passionate professionals who want to advance the profession of entertainment hypnotism.
The biggest value we believe that can be quickly delivered is free continuing education at no additional cost to our members. Our Learning Archive is a continuously expanding library of online content that provides members with the chance to learn about marketing, showcraft, and other aspects of the profession that go beyond the initial training you have received with trainers.

Professional Membership
Once you have joined the International Stage Hypnotists' Association and have an Associate Membership, you may be eligible for a Professional Membership.
A Professional Membership recognizes individuals who have done the proper preparation and taken the necessary steps to operate within the realm of professional practice.
Proof of Formal Training or Certification
Professionals must be able to document that they have either completed clinical hypnotism training or stage hypnotism training with an actual trainer.
Criminal Background Check
Candidates for Professional Membership must submit to a criminal background check.
There will be a $15 fee for background checks in the United States.
Members outside of the US must pay 50% of the fee for whatever country they are in.
The background check must be repeated once every three years.
Proof of Liability Insurance
Applicants must document that they have a current liability policy for stage hypnotism.
Policies for clinical hypnotism will not be accepted.
Continuing Education Units
Members who are awarded Professional Member status will have to complete 20 Continuing Education Units per year in order to keep their status active. A list of ways to earn CEUs is available here.
What's the Point?
Other organizations, for decades, have taken the approach of "pay us more money, and we'll give you more status." We are breaking sharply from that tradition.
Our approach is "Do more, do better, and we'll give you more status." As we keep developing membership levels, our goal is not to sell them to you, but for you to want to earn them by learning and growing as a professional. We think that's how we'll all advance the profession together.

Unique Member Listing Page
Professional Members will have a listing in the Member Directory that shares their bio and social media accounts.
The Member Directory will communicate that all Professional Members have undergone background checks and provided proof of insurance.
Having an official listing on the ISHA website should better position you with potential clients, demonstrating your status as a serious professional.
Display Your Sizzle Reel
Professional Members will have the ability to display a highlight or "sizzle reel" of up to one minute in length on their Member Directory page.
In time, the Member Directory could evolve into a sort of browsing marketplace for people looking for hypnotists to book, and so having your sizzle reel on your member listing could be a crucial part of getting noticed and matched to a client.
Ability to Be Published on Website
Professional Members may submit blog articles on related aspects of entertainment hypnotism for publication on the ISHA website. This will give them published author credit and also earn them Continuing Education Units for membership renewal.
